Gratitude

Yesterday I took advantage of the gorgeous weather, after Abigail woke up from her afternoon nap I strapped her in the stroller and off we went on a walk. I came to the conclusion that although sometimes I wished we lived in the city I enjoy being in the"boondocks" {as Hannah calls it} As I was walking along I was taking in all the sights, you see i took a road i hadn't been down before and I thought what a better time to do some exploring!!! It was so nice to be out in the sunshine with my little girl and the beautiful landscape my Lord had created!!! I found a path that lead to the river and it was the most beautiful picture I had ever seen. The river was crashing against the rocks and from where I was on this plateau I could see miles down the raging river. It sounds cheesy but I thought how cool that the Lord put this beautiful spot practically in my backyard!!! At that moment I was so overcome with gratitude for all my Lord has given me!!!!

a simple lyric

I was driving today and listening to a song that really spoke to me. The lyric said "Just like a mother who cradles her baby,so the fathers grace falls on us". I thought that was a very unique way of describing how God gives us grace. I pictured myself cradling Abigail, how I love to stare in her eyes and shower her with kisses and hugs. It was awe inspiring to think that my heavenly father showers me with grace all the while holding me close. I also love that even as I am going about my day, thinking about all the errands I have to accomplish my father loves me enough to speak to me through a simple song lyric. Thank You Lord for loving me that much!!!

One Flaw in Women

One Flaw In Women

>Women have strengths that amaze men.
>They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
>but they hold happiness, love and joy.
>They smile when they want to scream.
>They sing when they want to cry.
>They cry when they are happy
>and laugh when they are nervous.
>They fight for what they believe in.
>They stand up to injustice.
>They don't take "no" for an answer
>when they believe there is a better solution.
>They go without so their family can have.
>They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
>They love unconditionally.
>They cry when their children excel
>and cheer when their friends get awards.
>They are happy when they hear about
>a birth or a wedding.
>Their hearts break when a friend dies.
>They grieve at the loss of a family member,
>yet they are strong when they
>think there is no strength left.
>They know that a hug and a kiss
>can heal a broken heart.
>Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
>They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
>to show how much they care about you.
>The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
>They bring joy, hope and love.
>They have the compassion and ideas.
>They give moral support to their
>family and friends.
>Women have vital things to say
>and everything to give.
>
> HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
>IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

harsh words equal apology

Jason has brought it to my attention that yesterday's blog was very harsh.
I agree with him. I had been chatting with two family members as of lately and they were really ticking me off,so my way to vent was to put my thoughts out there for the world to see. Hindsight is 20/20. I came off as rude and I feel an apology to my blogging buddies is needed,it was not directed at any of you personally. The Lord likes to keep me humble and this is just another learning experience. I'm thankful I have a honest husband who can give me loving critisism!!!

My Opinion

I am using my blog today to vent. It is not because of one specific incident, just a gathering of them.

*My purpose here is not to offend anyone,or come across as rude it's just my opinion and how I feel today.*

When I was pregnant with Abigail total strangers would see my bulging belly and think that it meant it was ok to offer unsolicited advice. Of course being the timid gal I was I would politely smile and nod. Of course I was naive enough to think that once I had Abby all would return to normal. Such was not the case!!! I have gotton ALOT of unwanted advice and glances as to how I choose to parent MY child.

For the record......

NO#1 Yes I do wake my child up to feed her,it's called a schedule
NO#2 No I do not feed her cereal yet
NO#3 Yes I do give her"tummy time" everyday
NO#4 Yes I do give her a soother at night

It comes down to this: Every child is unique, therefore what works for me may not work for you.Does that mean were both wrong? Of course not,God loved us enough to give us choice!!!! And in twenty years is it really going to matter that I gave Abigail a soother? No. What will matter is that Abigail knows that she was loved beyond measure!!!!!

Little Things

I had the loveliest day on Monday. My Hubbie has been working ALOT of overtime{29 days/nights in a row} to be exact!!! And I missed him very much, sometimes God gives you busy seasons and this was one for us. So Monday he was taking more overtime,or so I thought. About the time he would normally leave for work,Jason informed me he was taking the nite off!! YESSSSSSSSS!!!!! I was a bit excited {ha ha }He then told me that he had talked to my sister and dad and they were taking Abigail for the evening. The sweet guy had been planning this evening since the weekend!!!

He took me to dinner and a movie, which may I add was hilarious {if you get the chance go see Wild Hogs}Then we went to Starbucks and sat and talked,it was so nice
to reconnect and be a "couple" again!! However it was more then the diiner and movie it was the fact that we spend quality time together. It's very true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. My so thankful for the little things that the Lord gives me especially a nite out with my incredible husband!!!

I love you babe!!!!!!

Friends

I think it's so incredible, how the Lord created women to be relational beings!!
I enjoy spending time with my girlfriends laughing and sharing stories, especially since having Abigail it's so nice to talk to other moms and have some "me time". I'm blessed with a husband who knows how important it is to have "girl time"!!! I'm thankful to have such a close group of friends that I know will be there in a pinch!!!! Thank You to all my friends,I thank God for each one of you and the unique qualiities you bring to my life. Bless You All!!!
